Please join us October 18th in the Vision Building from 5pm-7pm for free comics, a wine reception, a workshop, an exhibition of comics and art in the archives, and presentations on the comics creation process for two new Dundee Comics!

As part of the Festival of the Future, Professor Chris Murray will be giving a presentation on the history of comics in Dundee as well as launching Superhuman Futures, a science fiction superhero comic that examines the superhuman as a metaphor for scientific advancement. Created for the Humanities module Human Futures, it demonstrates the innovative link between research, creative work and teaching that is being developed at the University of Dundee.

Comics PhD student, Hailey Austin, will be launching The Archives and Museum Anthology, a comic conceived and edited by Hailey in conjunction with the University of Dundee’s Archive and Museum Services which explores the University’s collection of comics related archival holdings and original artwork. The work within the anthology has been created by University of Dundee Illustration students, Comics Masters, Comics PhD students, as well as artists in InkPot studios and the Dundee Comics Creative Space. We look forward to seeing you at the launch event! The event is free but does require booking in advance. Please click here for more information and to book your place.
